I think that is one of the few differences between the Catholic religion and the Protestants. Most Protestant Ministers are married.

This however is rejected by the orthodox church putting it in simplistic terms is that because it can led to other sins such as homosexuality, masturbation, adultery, etc..

Are there people out there that actually believe this bs.The only way marriage leads to....homosexuality is if the guy realizes that men not women get him off, masturbation is because his wife doesnt want to get him off anymore which could lead to adultery because hes tired of masturbation.Actually I think being celibate would lead to masturbation faster then marriage would.

Yes, because it might encourage priest not to put thier hands down little boys pants.

I dont think marriage would change the child molestion issues. Since they are molesting little boys, I would assume they are gay rather than straight.

I think they should be allowed to marry. It is human nature and I think they could be married and serve God as well. Also, I think it might help with attracting men into serving in the priesthood. I know some parishes are lacking in priests.

    Rev. Cutie?

Married men molest boys so that is not a solution. A pedophile is atill a pedophile, married or not.

Most priests take a vow of poverty. Easy enough to say there would be no inheritance.

Plus maybe if they were allowed to marry maybe they would leave those poor alter boys alone.

Well seriously! Maybe they wouldnt be hiding and molesting boys who 99 times out of 100 arent going to tell on them, if they could have a relationship with a woman in the open!

I understand what is being said about being a pedophile. But how can any of you explain the high percentage of Priests being Pedophiles.

In my opinion it is because they have to hide the fact that they have a sexual need. So they do it with young boys in hopes that they dont tell!

I may be wrong. Really I dont care whether they marry or not but I do think the percentage of molestation would go down tremendously if they were allowed to marry!

A perv is a perv, married or not. If they are attracted to young boys, I don't think marrying a woman is going to make that attraction go away.
