Pvc?
huh? did i miss something?
I think she means PVS (persistent vegetative state). I have heard that they give morphine to all patients who are dying in a hospice whether they believe they are in pain or not. I think it's just something they do for everyone.
A guy interviewed on tv this morning said that someone in this state could not recognize pain or that they were supposed to eat so they give morphine to ease the pain
oops...and yes...
referring to the other "treatment thread re:Terry..if her smile was permanent then you all need to view the video tape with her dad..she wasnt all smiles then...her face is NOT froze.
I fillled out my living will for this very reason yesterday. We have been putting it off and putting it off....this is just unbelievable. I am not even going to pretend to understand what either side is going through...
I would never wish this on my family.
You are right, her face is not "frozen". She is able to move it, but the skin around her jaw is taut because the muscle is wasted away so it appears as if she "smiles" several times but she is not.Quote:

This is done so that you are not waiting for pain meds to kick in while being in pain.
What they ought to do is give her a very high dose of morphine. High doses suppress the respiratory system and will kill you. At least she wouldn't have to live like this anymore....
OMG this whole thing just makes me too sad. I guess I will stop coming into these threads I cant do it. I had to do it and it wasnt easy and I am glad they gave my son morphine even if he wasnt in pain he left this world not struggling and with some dignity.
i was trying to follow this thread but i have no made the choice not too, i am clueless as what ya all are talking about, so i will just respect each of urs opinion's on the subject at hand.
