13 Yr Old DS going to see President

My sons freinds have and extra ticket to see President Bush tomarrow. They asked if he could go. I am allowing him to miss school even though he has some tests tomarrow. I feel this is a once in a life time opertunity. He will never forget this president that is for sure. He is real excited about seeing him tomarrow. I know he will learn alot more listening to him then he would in school for the day. Ok know the big question how should I make him dress lol :confused: :confused: I think just regular school clothes will be fine. Or should he step it up a notch. Thank you Barb

If he's comfortable in school clothes, I'd let him go that way. If he feels more comfortable all dressed up, let him do that. Let him pick. Within reason. Hope he has a good time.

He may want to find out what the friend is wearing too. Cuz if he's getting all jazzied up and your son has jeans, the comfort zone may be gone? just a thought.

How exciting to be in the same space as the President of the USA. As for dress, I would suggest whatever he normally wears, minus distasteful T-shirts that go to the knees, no britches full of holes, no hat on sideways or backwards (perferably no hat). I would be so excited to see a president no matter who it was, republican, democrat, or Mickey or Minnie Mouse. What an experience for a youngster. What a class topic, current event.

I agree with Nana...let him dress as he normally would with a nice shirt and jeans. He is going to see the Prez and he will enjoy every minute of it! Something to talk about for along time for him.

Thanks everyone. He is so excited he is having trouble going to sleep. I gave him one tylenol pm to try and calm him down. He is wound so tight. He doesn't know what to do with his self. lol He had a hard work out at football a nice hot shower and a big snack.lol now if the tylenol kicks in I can go to bed. I did not tell him he is staying home he thiniks he has to go to school in the morning.lol did not want to hear I have no school I don't need to go to bed. lol I will tell him in the morning. I know bad bad mom. lol :D :D

sure T I have belgiun waffles. also home made fudge, fruit bowl. oh yes all that halloween candy . The candy just keeps calling me to my bedroom were I hid it from the family so I will have some to give out. lol Now I will have to run back to the store to replace some of it. lol I guess between not telling my son the truth and eating all the candy I am so bad. lol Someone ground me to my room so I can have a day off of work and sleep .lol

I can't go to sleep either with a big snack or even a sandwich. Bet you gave him something sugary or spicy. Keeps me awake. He would fall asleep even without the Tylenol PM. Tell him to count pennies and tell you how many he counted in the morning. :)

LOL LOL oh Know no pennies. I had a jug of pennies and he loved to count them all the time. He would dump them out and count them at least 3 times a week till we saved enough money for a trip to the amusment park.lol He would love to count them and not go to bed. this child is the one that stopped taking knaps at the age of 6 months no knaps he hates to sleep. He can get up early stay up late and it does not effect him. he is the total oppisate of me. lol I still love knaps if I could take one I will jump at the chance lol He finally fell asleep. I have to stay up to talk to DH he gets home in 2 hours. Yikes I think it is time for a hot shower and a cup of tea. lol

we saw Clinton speak a few years ago and I pulled my daughter that was then in jr. high out of school. Well worth it, an experience none of us will forget. Just have him wear comfortable clothes. We had to wait in line for about 3-4 hours and then wait for the Prez for another hour or so..long, long day. Hope your son has a great day!!!
