I hope this question isn't too personal ...

but what laundry detergent and fabric softener do you use? :p

I usually buy whatever's the cheapest, but people at another board were RAVING about Surf (which is now ALL) and so I decided to try it. FYI, you can find the 100 oz bottle at Target for $3.50 or less. If you find a bottle of Surf that says, "Peel here for our new look", peel it to get a $1 coupon inside. You can then use that coupon for that purchase (I don't think it's cool to take a coupon that someone else could have used) to make it $2.50. So I bought two not knowing if I'd like it or not. I just finished a load of laundry using BrightSky colorhold. I don't like those with strong scents, this didn't have one. :)

As for fabric softener, I use All dryer sheets, but lately have started to use Downy. I got the 20 oz bottle at Rite Aid for $1 or $1.25 after rebates and coupons. I thought it was a decent price, but I'm not really sure since I've never bought it before.

I just want to know what you all use and if you don't mind answering, what is a good price for what you use? (other than free, duh) :) thanks!

I use Surf Powder any scent and Tropical Downey :)

Right now I'm using Purex free because I thought I had a problem with my skin breaking out from the other detergents with scents. But I usually use Purex and Downy.. either the orange, blue, or yellow cap! :D My 100 oz Purex usually costs me about $2.50 with a coupon and Downy.. I don't remember.. I just know I have a coupon every time for the medium size... that's what I usually buy.

I use Whatever is cheapest most of the time,(liquid ONLY thank you) but I REALLY like the Gain Mountain Fresh scent or whatever that is called.. LOL I use the Cling Free dryer sheets in the dryer.

I have to be kinda careful cuz my son will break out really easily. But with the cheap stuff we dont really have that prob amazingly enuf.. LOL

I like them all- depends what's being washed-- what I have coupons for and is on sale. I stay away from store brand no matter what.
and if I try something new I am itchy so are the kids.

i usually use gain fresh wash or surf. and i love downy mountain spring. but i do like the ones that have strong scents. i LOVE for my clothes to stay smelling even after i put them away. any more out there that smell strong?

Thats crazy lol! Surf is the cheapest I can get around here. I pay 4.86 for the big ol box...I mean the BIG one lol. Whats is run where you are?

Use purex all the time unless Tide or Wisk is on sale and I have a coupon. Usually use cling free i think, but have been using downy dryer sheets lately.

I have used Tide for over 30 years but now I get it with bleach and Mountain Fresh fragrance. I switch fabric softner sheets. Depends on who I have the largest coupon for usually Bounce or Snuggle. If you'd like you can come use mine in my house in my machines and my laundry:):):):):)

poor me and mine...we have to use free and clear detergent because me and my oldest son have such sensitive skin so i use all or cheer. usually all because it is cheaper (yeah i know) but it is good. and i love snuggle it is actually hypoallergenic so that takes care of the sensitive skin thing but downy sends us both to the doctor with rashes and leaving with medication...LOL...

I use Purex (cheapest here) but I really like Era. Right now I'm using Nice & Fluffy liquid fabric softener and it is HORRIBLE!! I'm going back to Downy. My new washer has an area in the middle of the aggitator for the fabric softener. I love it since I don't have to use the Downy ball anymore.
