Even my husband thought that long wait for an appt was cruel. The stress of this is bad enough without all the waiting.
Keeping you in my thoughts.
Have my own breast surgery to schedule this week. I'm hoping it doesn't interfere with the uterine surgery which we scheduled for 12/1. I would really like to get all this in before year end (since I've been seeking explanation/remedy since July) because I've met my deductible. Maybe they can get the breast surgery done in the 6 weeks between, or maybe I only have to reschedule the Dec 1 by a week or so. All so stressful.

I had a lumpectomy -- yesterday! My surgery was scheduled at 9am (arrived at 7am for registration, tests, etc.) and was back home by 11:30am. The hospital is 45 min away -- so it was very fast. My husband said from the time they took me to surgery to the time the dr came out to tell him I was going to recovery was about 1/2 hour. I have two incisions that are not painful, just mostly sore. Movement slightly restricted, but not bad. Can't lift things for a while. Using ice packs and slept quite a bit yesterday after I got home. I have to go back to the dr on 11/14 for my follow up and see what I need (radiation/chemo).
One down, one to go.
On 11/22 I start with my pre-op tests for my next surgery (hysterectomy for uterine cancer) on Dec 1. That will be done robotically. I had to disclose my cancer to everyone who asked me medical questions yesterday (and there were many). They all thought the robotic surgery was "cool". It's supposed to be less invasive and shorter recovery time, so I'm all in for that.
Thanks to everyone for their thoughts, prayers and hugs. I'll let you know how things go.

Just getting back from my results visit, no cancer !! have to repeat mamo in 6 months then will reevaluate then.
The biopsy last week was right up there with one of the worst experiences ever. No one I talked to had it done the way I did or experienced complications like I did. But its over ..
Thanks for all the prayers and those who PM me, I am glad I had this group for support!!

Good news, sunflowers! And kjwent - glad to hear the lumpectomy went well. Keeping you in prayers for the hysterectomy. I had mine back in the late 1980s - bikini cut surgery, with additional time under the knife to remove a lot of endometrial tissue. The robotic thing sounds interesting, and now I'm going to search for more info.

The robotic surgery is called Da Vinci Surgery. I've tried not to look at any of the info online. Don't want to scare myself! Some hospital in the area just got the machine recently and they were showing it off on TV. They run it with their hands and feet! I also saw it on a TV show the other night -- New Amsterdam. The doctor wasn't even facing the patient -- just looking at a monitor and working the controls.
My dr is not a kid -- I hope he practiced some video games before he got into this Da Vinci stuff. I was never good at the games myself -- I hope he's better!
Thanks for your prayers. Every little bit helps.
