    Robo calls

Well I had finally had it with the calls we receive at all hours from Collinsville IL the ones you answer and no one is there, I called them back and found it is from TCF Energy Electric Choice and talked to a B!tch named Linda 183, who snapped at me the would put me on the do not call list. I'm on the National DNC list so they shouldn't have been calling me in the first place, I called her back and she snapped again "I put you on the DNC list" and I told her not to talk to me in that tone, I didn't ask to be called she hung up on me again. So I sent a electronic complaint to the Attorney General with the date I put myself and my husband on that list back in 2017, with her name, attitude and number 183. I'm hoping she works from home because I'm calling her late this evening and hanging up, might do that again tomorrow and the next day after that. When I talk to these people I am always polite and ask our names be taken off the list, I figure they need to make a living too, but this woman p!ssed me off. I'm going to start taking numbers for everyone of these calls and filing a complaint with the AG.

Don't answer any calls that you don't know the number too, and stop calling them back. Once they realize it's a working number, they sell it to other companies.

Spammers don't care if you're on the DNC list.

I never answer any calls.....if I"m home when they call, I google the number to make sure it's not important. (It never is).

The biggest problem is that most of the calls come from my area code and the first 3 numbers are my small town, so I really don't know who is calling and I would hate not to pickup if it was someone I knew but didn't have that number in my phone. This has happened a couple times when someone's phone dies and they borrow someone else's. Even my Father In Law comes up Private sometimes on our phone and his number is in my phone book.

I get junk calls with my area code and prefix, and I don't answer. Sometimes I get part of a pre-recorded message in my voice mail. A lot of those numbers are spoofed, but I block them anyway. I did get one call that used my own phone number - go figure.

Spammers can spoof any number/ area code they want. Tell your friends and family that if they have to use someone else's phone, leave a message, and then call them back. The more solicited calls you answer, the more you're going to get. As I said above, spammers don't care about the Do Not Call List......and in all honesty, it doesn't even apply to them. lol

If you MUST call a number back that you're unsure of, use *67 right before the phone number. (Example: *67(800)-555-1212). That blocks your number from them.

Looks like the "Stop Bad Robocalls Act" has passed through the House of Representatives. Let's see if it makes it through the Senate.

Never heard of that. I'll have to look it up later.
