Claritan question - bad cold
started with a cold yesterday at work. stopped at drugstore on my way home and asked pharmacist for strongest meds to stop symptoms runny nose and sneezing. SHE SAID CLARITON was best to dry me up. so bought 12 hour reddi tabs. now instead of blowing nose every 5 minutes, I have a constant drippy running nose - no way to blow it out. sneezing is reduced plus total dry mouth. not happy. got to go to work. Is there a diff between the reddi tabs and regular caps?? any better suggestions? I never took claritan before. does it get better with continued use
oh for the good old days when I could take a Contac capsule and have all symptoms gone for 12 hours

Claritin is for allergies. Mucinex or Sudafed (I get the store brand) would probably work best. Tylenol Cold also works good too. I usually just look at the boxes and figure out which one would fix the most things wrong.

THX - Guess the CVS pharmacist was not very smart or is getting a kickback to promote Claritin. I told her I had a cold and my symptoms. i had 2-3 cold medicines in my hand and asked which was better for my symptoms or if there were stronger behind the counter. she said those would do nothing. and just kept repeating Claritin, Claritin, CLARITIN
oh and she also said the name brand cold medicines would do nothing for runny nose and sneezing. that claritin would dry me up.
I was concerned that the reddi tabs which are so thin do not work as well as another form.
this is now my third day for a constant running nose ugghh
