What is your definition of a stay at home mom?

Is it a mom who doesn't work?
Is it a mom who has a child under 5 at home?
Is it a mom who has a child whether at home or not that doesn't work?
Is it a mom who has a child of any age as long as they are still in school , and mom stays home..

or maybe all of any of the above???

I was just curious , when people ask what I do I say stay at home mom.
But then started thinking maybe that only applied to like if you had a small one at home...lol

Well, now that your son is out of high school, and out of college, I'd say you're a house wife.

(Or you could just tell them to mind their own business. lol )

To me, if you have any children at home you are a stay at home mom, once the kids move out then your a housewife. That is how I look at it at least.
My kids are grown and out of the house so I say I am a homemaker/housewife.

Someone who didn't know what they were getting into.

My mother would always say, "home maker". She never liked the "housewife" term, she said she only married once and that was to my father. lol

A "stay at home mom" rarely "stays home" because you are usually vollentering ( vollen-told ) to do stuff for children - DH - various family and friends because you are available during regular business hours. I always refered to myself as a full time wife and mother.
