Thread: I have a new puppy!

After losing Boomer almost 4 weeks ago I have been on a emotional rollercoaster. I miss him terribly & Smokey is even worse. She is so sad without her brother & she has chanced because of his death.

A co-worker's cocker had puppies 4 weeks ago & he also has an 11 month old cocker mix who is the aunt of the puppies born 4 weeks ago.

We decided that Smokey may adjust better if she had an older dog to start out with & not be a wild & crazy puppy so we decided to pick up the 11 month old today.

This little girl is so pretty & tiny. I'm not sure but I think she may have been crated a little bit too much because he has so many dogs. He can't see dogs having to go to the pound so he takes them in & tries to find better homes for them so she appears a little bit under developed but she's such a sweet & mild mannered pup. He was calling her, Cindy but we don't want that name. So far we are thinking about Ginger (because of her color) or Foxy because she does resemble a small fox...... plus she is a very foxy little girl!

When we brought the pup home & did the intro, Smokey was so happy & it looks like the two of them will be a good fit together. The pup is a little overwhelmed & nervous to her new surroundings but she appears to like it here & is fitting in as well as expected.

We pick up the baby on April 21, he will be 8 weeks & 3 days old when he comes home.

I just hope this gets Smokey out of her funk & that she can find happiness again. She is in so much pain & I just don't know what to do for her.

I'll post pictures when I get a few good ones. Until then I am just going to enjoy the new bundle of joy we brought home today!

They all have their special places in our hearts. Congrats on the new one.

We decided her name will be Penny! I just woke up & I tried to get her to come downstairs so I could let her out to do her business but she had other plans..... she crawled back into bed with my husband. I think yesterdat tuckered her out & she's just not ready to wake up yet!

Congrats on the new addition, I hope the new dog helps Smokey and you guys fill the void. I know the new one won't replace Boomer but may help with the void.
Can't wait to see pictures. I like Cocker Spanials, even though I am more of a cat person.

She left me trim & emery board her nails today! She's about 10-12 pounds
