Found money...........
What would you do if you found money in the parking lot of a grocery store?? (or any other store).
I don't mean a huge amount of money, just like a $20 bill or something? Would you keep it??
For the past 2 months, (almost every 2 weeks) customers at our store are ''finding'' money in our parking lot, and bringing it back in to us. The first time it was $15,the second time it was $20 next time it was $30. And it happened again last night. Another $20!
The first two times it happened, I didn't really think anything about it. (except wondering why they didn't just keep it). But now I'm thinking someone is doing it on purpose. I've never seen any of the customers turning it in, so I don't know if it's the same person or not. And it's never given to the same cashier.
It just seems odd, since it's happened so many times.
(and in case you're wondering what we do with the money.........I buy pizza for everyone on the shift with it. )

If there were no identifying owner available, I'd keep it.

Finding bills like that I would keep it. Now if it was a large sum of money I would take it to police.
I know a lady and she won't pick up even a penny, she says it belongs to someone and they may come back looking for it.

put it in an envolpe for a week - if no one claims it - lunch for the shift. It sounds like someone's RAOK ... and some very honest neighbors. We have a "Community" FB Page - someone recently pposted they had found a Walmart card with money on it - anyone who could id the image on the card & amount could claim it. After a week - no had claimed it. So a discussion went up - should the finder "keep" it... much discussion followed and the money was given to a local couple who runa Food Bank for the community out of their home run entirely on donation - to be used for perishables and fresh meat.

It sounds like someone is doing it on purpose. It is nice your shift gets treated to pizza with it. If I were to find a few bucks in the parking lot I'd keep it. If it were a lot I'd turn it in. I think the most I've ever found was $5 and that was when I was a little girl.

If keep it too but since its turned into the store, pizza for for everyone is a great idea.

It's always brought to us as just bills. Either a $10 & $5 bill, or like this last time, a $20 bill. That's it. No wallet, envelope, change purse...nothing.
After this last time, I really do believe it's a RAOK from someone.

3lilpigs, now where is it you work? Maybe I need to sit in the parking lot and watch for this person and gather the loot when they drop it.
Lol, only joking.
Don't you guys have camera's that you could see if it is the same person handing it in?

I'M going to go sit in the parking lot and wait too!
We have cameras, but they are run by a security company and we can only review it by calling them if it's some type of emergency. It's not kept at store level.

Oh, just thought reviewing the video would help. But that isn't something you call emergency to have them check it out.
Well, get your sleeping bag and start camping out. LOL
