    Happy boxing day!

    Published on: December 26, 2012

BOXING DAY! It’s a glorious time of year for British people (like myself), because it’s basically a day that celebrates EATING ALL OF THE CHRISTMAS LEFTOVERS! And that’s about all there is to it. But how did it start, you’ve always wondered? Here you go (Thanks, Wikipedia!):

“Since they would have to wait on their masters on Christmas Day, the servants of the wealthy were allowed the next day to visit their families. The employers would give each servant a box to take home containing gifts and bonuses, and sometimes leftover food.”

(So basically, if you were poor in England and had to serve on Christmas Day, the day after Christmas was basically your “Christmas Day.” And nice employers would box up leftovers and goodies for you. #learning)

To honor this great day and to share the tradition with all of you, here are 25 AWESOME British Things to feast your eyes on:
