Do you think this is unreasonable?
We signed up for u verse, cellphone service, internet and landline phone service. They quoted me a price of 179.99 plus taxes but when I got the bill its 238.60. I called and the billing person said the other was for fees and taxes. Is it normal to get charged almost sixty dollars for fees and taxes. I thought I was saving 60 dollars and now its only 4 dollars. And the service is still not working right. Theres no way I would have signed up if I had known I'd only save 4 dollars.

It seems like a lot to me. Is it possible you had to buy the router and it was on the first bill? I wish I had my last cable bill so I could look and see how much taxes are. It seems like someone else here has U-Verse. Maybe they can tell you what they pay.

No we didn't have to pay for any equipment or installation either. She said it was taxes and fees.

Almost $60 a month for fees and taxes seems high to me. Your bill doesn't break it down and tell? I'm so glad you told about your problems with U-Verse because my husband was wanting to switch to it. I'll stick with what I have.

I haven't got it yet I saw it in an email they sent me telling me what it is this month but they didn't break it down. I wont know for sure till next month because she said the cell phone bill is higher this month. I really hope its cheaper than 238.60.

As you can see I pay 8 something in fees and taxes here.
My landline is Verizon I have the Verizon Freedom Essentials which is 54.99 a month
here is a breakdown of fees for this. The fees and taxes add up to 18.07

I do too. I'd not be happy paying that much in taxes and fees. I just checked my cell phone bill and I pay taxes and fees of $16 a month on a $100 bill that covers 4 cell phones. I get my internet and cable through a different company.

It is very possible that the taxes are $ 60.00. On our cell phones at one of my offices we found they were 24.5% since every group in the world has a tax rate piled on. You also have to remember if you are in the City limits you will have Federal, State, County and City taxes added on to that bill. I was so happy when we could finally switch our phones to prepaid type and only have to pay 6% sales tax instead of the 24.5% taxes that we paid on our phones under a contract. You have to remember when they quote you prices they don't include any taxes which make you think you are saving a bunch of money - when you really are not as you have found.
As for UVerse service I have heard nothing but complaints unless you find a local UVerse store. If there is one near you go to the store and speak with one of the associates there. Everyone I know has had issues until they found someone they can call at a local store and then the problems were fixed.

maybe it was prorated for part of a month and a full month?

It was prorated last month. But she did say the cell phone would come down some next month. I sure hope so or we didn't save any money at all and it goes up 30 dollars in two years. My husbands been picking at me for all the money I saved and the service isn't that good at all. I hope this last Friday when they came they finally fixed it but it usually works right 5 to 7 days and then we start losing the signal again.
