In Massachuschetts a doctor refused to treat a woman because she was over 200 pounds.The doctor said two of her workers had been injured treating overweight patients so she didn't want to take new patients that were overweight. The doctor said in the intereview that there was an obesity clinic she could go to that was better equiped to handle her weight. The doctor said the patients she already had that were overweight would be grandfathered in but she wouldn't take any new patients that were overweight. She said it had motivated some of her patients to lose weight. It would have motivated me to find another doctor myself. One that cared more about patients and less about liability.
