There's some crazy people in this world
My sister lives within walking distance of her post office. She said a man pulled up beside her when she was walking home and said. I'm too tired right now and going home but I'm going to get you next time I see you. He said he's been watching her and knows where she lives. She went home and called a cop she knows that lives near her but he said there wasn't much they could do but patrol until he did something. But shoot when he does something it could be too late. She's scared to walk to the post office now but has to get her mail. That would have really scared me too.

Wow, that is crazy....too bad she didn't get the make & model of his car and more importantly....his license plate. When she goes to the post office, tell her to carry her cell phone and a camera....and go at busy times.

She did get the make and model but couldn't get the license plate bacause it was too dirty, she couldn't make it out. Whats scary is him saying he's been watching her for a while walking back and forth. I believe it could be someone that lives near her. She said he's white and looks like he's in his forties. She doesn't have a cell phone or she could have taken a picture of his vehicle.or him.

I would pack a camera and a gun ... but that is just me. Sounds like he is looking for a "victim" - and gets off on scaring her... so don't act scared... be pro-active. Is there some who could walk with her ? Maybe a dog she could take for a walk ?

On the other hand, it's entirely possible that this wacko said what he did just to get a rise out of her and doesn't plan to do anything. I hope that's the case. In the meantime, she needs to do what everyone else has suggested. Also get a loud whistle to go with the mace. Walking the neighbor's dog is a good idea, if he's a big one. Or invest in a throwaway camera or if she happens to have a digital camera at home, that would be even better. As Jolie said, be proactive and don't let this jerk get away with anything if it can be avoided!

Her neighbors are mostly elderly. I don't know if he's serious or not but she has a lot of weird things go on where she lives. Its a really small town. A few stores and a post office.

If this is a small town, then I highly recommend that your sister file a complaint/report with the police department. Even if she only has the color, make and model of his car and a description of the person....he may be known already to the PD and can be watched/confronted. The other things is that if something were to happen to her, there would be some clues already in the system to find her. She should report this immediately.

You can get a prepaid cell phone at Wal Mart for $10. There is also a place where you can get a free cell phone if you meet certain guidelines. The link has been posted in the freebie forums several times. Does she have a neighbor or 2 that she can go with to the post office?

That is really scary. I hope baragabrat is right and it was just a weirdo trying to scare her. That thought crossed my mind too. I'd take precautions but I wouldn't let it keep me from going out. If it is a small town the police might know who it is from the description of the car and if he is a serious threat. I don't know why people have to be mean and want to hurt people. 
It just keeps getting worse and worse.
