Or can you use free book sites you se when you google free books?

I received a nook for Christmas. I have not used it as of yet. Part of me is still deciding whether or not I really want it & part of me does not like having to enter my credit card # before I can finish registering it. Suppose I lose it. Can someone grab my cc information off of it?
I also received a $25 GC from B&N but can't enter it until I register my cc.

Sunnie, go to walmart or walgreens and buy a prepaid credit card, that way IF you ever lose your Nook you will not be out more then is on the card. It costs $4-$5 to load it and some of them are reloadable so at a later time you can put more on it. Also, if it is lost you can call Barnes and Noble and have the nook deactived, literally it would be useless to them. The nook IS neat, I checked one out for a couple of weeks from my local library and loved it. I have over 4,000 ebooks I have had just laying around my computer and I love being able to just load them on to a device

I would think you would have to log in w/ a user name and password in order to buy stuff..and if you lost it the person wouldnt know your info..
also I think the CC info is for barnes and noble...so it is stored w/ them..

most libraries also have a e-book option now, so you can download books and magizines for FREE ! We got a Kindle and DH called Amazon and told them we didn't hace a CC and they registered it for him over the phone.

I have a Nook... you do NOT have to log in to buy anything but the CC is not visible, either. And yes, you can get books from anywhere, but you have to put them on a micro SD card. They should be in an epub format.

my sister has a nook and this yr i bought my mom one for christmas. my sister loaded up some program to make it almost like a tablet, she can go on the web, she can also load books up from amazon. She will also check ************* (I think that is the website) and they will post free books on there as well. they are not best sellers but sometimes you do get an author like stephen king, or john grisham etc but for the most part it is authors you haven't heard of but FREE is FREE!!! enjoy
