Want to get rid of Comcast Cable

Besides satellite or Netflix, what are some options. I have heard of hulu and apple tv, any other ideas? I am sick of paying $70 for basic.

    TIA

What shows/channels do you normally watch? Most channels allow you to watch all their shows online.
I got rid of my tv 9 months ago & don't miss it at all! I have hulu plus, but I think I'm going to get Netflix when I move.
Get a digital reciever/rabit ears for your local channels (you'll be amazed at what channels you do get) , then get hulu plus or Netflix, I guarantee you'll be much happier not watching "real tv".

We have netflix but it is lacking. I usually watch Discovery, History, tru tv, food network, A&E, spike, FNC, travel channel, documentaries. I have tried watching online but you do not get the complete show and there are way more interruptions than normal channel viewing.

I've been so happy with hulu. Hardly any commercials at all and I always get the complete show. There are a ton of documentaries on hulu as well as TLC / Discovery shows like Horders and Pawn Stars, etc....

Your real options other than Hulu and Netflix are Directv & Dish network - neither of which are great in my opinion especially during bad weather. Call your cable company and tell them you are going to switch and ask for discounts on the plan you have.

We did that for years with Comcast and they always lowered the rate for 6 months, so every 6 months we'd call back, then after about 3 yrs of telling them we were going to cancel service, they said,"Go Ahead." lol! That they couldn't discount us anymore, so we switched to the Dish.

Just get rid of the cable for a month & see that you can live just fine without it! If you feel that you can't live with-out it, then get it back or go w/a dish service.

Is your internet service also thru Comcast?

Agreed! Comcast internet is the best!
Is your total bill $70 for internet & cable?

I have ATT dsl service and never have a problem with it. Now I did have Brighthouse broadband and it sucked horribly and they still wanted you to pay for a full month when the service was unavailable after a hurricane when we didn't have service for 3 weeks - but they would credit the 3 weeks on the cable service but not the internet. That was when I told them where to put their internet service. The internet service was horrible with Brighthouse since there were so many people in my area on the internet service. With dsl it doesn't matter how many of your neighbors are on the service it is the same - fast speed. With broadband the more people in your area on it the slower it runs no matter what their damn commercials say.

I have Charter expanded basic, which runs about $60 bef taxes. Every time the current special runs out, I ask for another and they give me whatever they have and cheerfully. I have plenty of selections and sportswise we'd happy if we only got his Lions', Wings' & Tigers' games and then his his documentaries, my Bravo and local channels but we get much more than that! Have to say though I could really really really really do without Fox news!

those are the channels i enjoy to watch, right now, i only get the free channels, like abc, cbs, nbc, fox and cw.
My life, lol! I've been meaning to mention i saw and ad for att u-verse?...something like that, and for $47 a month
you get television and internet combined...but you know how deals are, gotta read the fine print, some bundles
call for contracts of up to 2 years, and some you only get that price for 2-3 months. I only rolled in on the
end of the tv commercial, so i can't be specific. I think it said you get a dvr with it too. Let us know what you decide.
