    Paypal question

I'm sure I could find the answer to this, but I'm tiring of reading their website.

I'm sure an ebay Seller or someone will know the answer.

If you sell something for say $150 (all legitimate on your part),
the buyer receives the item (you have proof of delivery),

the buyer disputes somehow; either by item not working or not received it.

Does Paypal have the right to take (withdraw) funds from your checking account without your permission?

I personally don't like having that much in the paypal account due to hacking and fraud (I try to leave $50 or less in my acct at any one point and the rest is in checking used only for paypal)

If you have proof of delivery, then tell paypal that. And if the item was broken, then buyer should send it back at their expense. When I sell something I always put something like.... buyer has 7 days to return item at your expense for full refund, less the shipping and handling.
I do remember once though, a long time ago, I bought something, and I never recieved it, and the seller was no where to be found, I put in a complaint to paypal requesting my money back, it took so many days for the dispute, the seller never responded, and I did get my money back.
I do believe paypal has to contact you and let you know the situation and get your reponse before they did take money out of your account, they give you a chance to repsond and settle the situation first.

If the buyer goes through paypal, and request/wants his money back, then you will be hearing from paypal. That means that the other person has opened up a case through paypal about the situation.

That's the way I remember it working anyway.

    thanks for your response..

the item should be delivered today. i just want to make sure.
I sold the item on craigslist; I made sure the guy paypal verified and I shipped to a confirmed address first.

I just want to be prepared for a scam to happen. Don't just want paypal going into my checking account and taking my money. (Maybe I'll transfer money from that acct)
Not saying this because I scammed someone; everything was legit on my part.
