    How is your closet organized?

Do you have certain things hanging together, etc?

Mine's not organized at all. Well, ok that's not technically true. I have to have long things (dresses) on either side because in the center I have shelves that get in the way. I keep shoes on the floor and sweaters folded on the shelves and belts in the drawer on the bottom shelf.

I thought those little rooms were to quickly stash all the clutter when company is coming.....aka "The Dash & Stash" :

Well I have mine kind of by color. All white shirts together etc. If I don't it seems one I am looking for is always buried. I don't have enough room on my closet floor for shoes. I have summer ones in a huge rack on my door and winter ones in a 2 totes under my bed...lol

I turned our smallest bedroom into a dressing room so my clothes are very organized. Jeans are hung on double rods in the closet. Dressy blouses are hung on a high rod by the ironing board. Casual shirts are hung on a high rod ovrd the sewing machine. Sweaters and sweatshirts are folded away for the summer but will be switched out soon. I have double rods that have suits, jackets, skirts and dress pants on them. I outgrew my rods so dresses are on a wheeled rack just outside the door. Every section is arranged by colors, lightest to darkest.

Love it. I guess in a few years when one of my kids goes off to college I can make a dressing room too. Let's hope for scholarships so I can increase my collection !

Call it O.C.D. or working for too long managing the Salvation Army Thrift Store... Sleeveless: lightest to darkest. Short sleeve: same, Long sleeve: same. Dresses: same lightest to darkest and same sleeve arangement. Then skirts: same them pants..... RIDICULOUS, HUH? I just organized a good friend's closet a couple of days ago. ( I thought she might have posted this) She was in a bad motorcycle accident two months ago and cant do much for herself yet. I would go over there and put her clothes away and about have a major breakdown so I fixed it for her! It looks so nice!
