Question about fridge
Hello July 17th we got a new Samsung side by side Fridge with ice maker, They told us it would take about 24 hours and we would have alot of ice dump it and then the next batch use. Will a moth later we are only getting about maybe 2 8 oz. glasses of ice a day! And now when you open freezer you hear a fan like sound then it quits and you shut freezer door and open right back up and you dont hear it unless you wait more then 5 minutes I but a call into Samsung we have warranty through them for a year then 2 years through Nebraska furniture mart the lady said to reset it so hubby did and it got water in it like its suppose to but only has made about 6 cubes in the last hour. I am suppose to be hearing from the place that does their service work either tommorrow or Monday I am hoping it doesnt really foul anything else up on it stuff is staying froze I think only the ice maker is the problem Hubby says dont worry about it its their problem which is true but I am a worry wart. Have any of you have Samsung applkiances?

Do you have a water filter built into your fridge? If you do take it out & rinse it out. Remember to shut off the valve to the fridge before you remove the filter.

You don't have to shut off the valve before changing the filter on most refrigerators. I have a whirlpool and have never shut the valve off and it works great. It also makes a ton of ice. The only Samsung item I own is a VCR and it worked the last time I used it 4 years ago (before DVR) and it always worked great.

Thanks everybody but I dont thnk it is the water filter because there is a light that comes on I guess (so) new dont know but anyway light will come on when it needs changed. They are suppose to be here Monday or Tuesday I am sure it has something to do with ice maker because it is freezing food fine and I put some ice cube trays in there and they froze my family cannot live without ice! anyway sounds like it wants to make and it just drops 3 to 4 I will keep You guys updated thanks again.

I don't know if this is the same type of problem you're having or not but a couple of times we've had a problem with our ice maker. We kept hearing this weird humming sound coming from the freezer. We live in an apartment so we had to call and have maintenance come out to look at it. The guy said he knew what was wrong before he even got here. Some water had frozen and was blocking the fan from spinning. Our ice maker is located inside the freezer and doesn't come out through the door on the fridge so it could be a totally different problem.

We have this same refrigerator, and we noticed that in the beginning. The problem was with the supply line of water and the filter apparatus. I called Samsung, and they were able to help. 6 cubes an hour is not what this should produce. Also, make sure there isn't any clogging in the removable ice tray. Also, I think it's good to replace the refrigerator filter once receiving the unit, especially if it has been stored for a while. This is simply a precaution, but could help prevent issues like this from occurring.

My ice maker stopped working 2 weeks ago...I thought you had jixned me *LOL* My problem turned out to be my well pump was dying so there wasn't enough water pressure to make ice. Got the well pump replaced & now I have tons of ice I can't use until the bleach is gone.
