Jasmine, hubby and I have been looking in to having one of those things installed too. I'm just north of Dallas and we have certainly had our share of warnings (and even about 10 touch downs so far this season) but we are so very blessed. My heart goes out to everyone who has been affected by these storms. I would gladly take a family in if we were closer to them... this is all just so scary.

We are in north Alabama. I was subing at a school and about noon it started. A small one went over the school, tore up some trees, damaged some cars and took the roof of the house across the street. On my way home, which is normally a 10 min ride, it took me an hour and half to get home. All the roads where blocked with trees or flooded. Tornado sirens going off everywhere, and to top it off my cell phone battery died. It was a very long ride home.

The EF5 went right by here, hit down the road about 9 miles. It is like something out of a movie.

Power is back on after 5 days, some people still do not have power. I have not seen or heard anything on the news about this area other then local news. My family here is ok, houses are ok. The weathermen were very good, making sure to let people know it was very serious and to get to a safe place but did not panic people. I am sure they saved many people that otherwise would have not gone into safe place.

I have heard some weird stories. One, a man laid on his girlfriend and dog and the girlfriend and dog were ripped out from under him. The dead dog has been found but the girlfriend hasn't. Another, a girl was pulled out a car window. Both arms were cut to the bone but she wasn't killed. Wind does some strange things. One bush will be pulled up and another next to it not touched. They had pictures in the paper of a trailor porch with flowers still intact but the trailor was gone. Scary thing!

Sonrda I am so happy you checked in & you are ok. I was worried when I heard about Alabama. I am sorry your daughter had damage but at least they are ok. Things can be replaced, people can't.
