    Extreme couponing on TLC

I think its comes on tonight. I can't believe the woman that got $600 something worth of groceries for $6 and some cents. Man thats a great savings. I want to watch the show and see how she did it. Its showing it comes on at 7 to 9 pm tonight.

In all honesty...while they show reciepts of what these people buy & pay...I'm just not buying it. We all get practically the same newspaper ads. IDK about any of you but my ceral coupons say $1 off 2 or 3 boxes of cereal so I don't see how they get so much of this stuff for free.
I also think many of these people have "hoarding" issues. When it comes to a point where you have to add on extra rooms to your home to store your toilet paper, more toilet paper than you can use in a lifetime, yea I believe there are issues there.

Since I can't use 99% of the coupons I EVER see, I will never save any huge amounts. And while I have PLENTY of tp on hand, I certainly don't need dozens of rolls or dozens of anything. Extra is one thing and building an extra room? That's absurd. I'll just be happy with my now and then awesome buys....like the Blink eye drops on sale at Rite Aid last month. They cost $7.99 and I got a $7.99 rebate so all I paid was .48 (tax.) That thrills me to no end because hubby HAS to use drops several times a day.

One woman I saw bought 40 jars of ragu. That would last me forever, I only make spaghetti once or twice a month. And she also had forty or fifty boxes of cereal. Here cereal spoils after a few weeks. And she just put the boxes in a room and they only had three people in their family, I don't think you're saving money if the food spoils before you use it. I saw one man buy dozens of thengs for hardly anything but he donated it to his churches store for poor people. He just likes the thrill of getting things for free. What he's doing I don't see as wasteful.

No donating the food isn't wasteful. That is a very good thing. And mail-in rebates are usually 1 per family/address so are they renting multiple post office boxes???

I saw one on a talk show that said he quit his job to coupon...I just don't get that. If you buy it to donate to a food pantry that is wonderful but if you are buying it because you can...that is IMHO nutso! Them doing so much of this can take away promos that other people in this country can't get because some took way more than they should.

This is just me though....I am still crying over those cats from yesterday.

The one woman goes dumpster diving for coupons. All the Sunday papers and inserts. Some buy coupons off the internet. They need to figure in how much they spend----money and time on coupons. Is it really worth it.

And how come when I want to find just one coupon I can't? I make up my shopping list then go online to find the coupons I would use. I go to the coupons sites but never find the ones I need. It would take me hours to find them.

I always thought there was a limit to how many coupons you could use. I just never seem to find many coupons to use. I was going to print the coupons and use them from Inbox Dollare and SendEarnings but there are only a few I'd use on all those pages.

The best I have ever done was my total came to around $112 and after coupons I paid $9 and some change...that was one for the record books for me! LOL The closest store to me that doubles coupons is about 30min drive away...so these days I really have to figure out if the sales and coupons are worth the gas expense. KWIM?

I don't buy most those shows either. Plus the fact that most of these people shop at stores that double or triple coupons & those stores aren't in every state / city.
They do give good advice, like combine manufacturers coupons with store coupons & used rewards cards for coupons & discounts.
