What game do you remember playing as a child that is no longer played today?
Do any of you remember when we could call people on the phone and ask stupid questions?
My favorite was Is your refrigerator running? Better go catch it.
Today that would probably get you a prison sentence.

"Marco Polo" - played both in and out of water. The "it" person would keep their eyes closed while saying "Marco" - all the other kids in the group would have to say "Polo". The "it" person would have to use their ears to try and get close enough to one person to touch them, then THAT person would be the new "it". We played that you could move around after saying "Polo", some groups didn't.
"Red Rover" - Fun!! A large group of kids would form two long lines, each line holding hands. There would be a good distance between the two lines, with both groups facing the middle. One line would "call" to the other line - "Red Rover, Red Rover, send Julie right over!". Then Julie would have to run over to the opposing line, between any two people. She would have to try and "break" the chain of hands by running through.
If the person running was successful in breaking the chain, that person went back to their original line taking one opponent with them, rendering one line longer than the other.
If the person running did NOT break the chain, that runner had to stay with that opposing line, making that line longer.
This continued until 1 person was left on a side - or the recess bell rang! LOL!

We loved a game called "bottle-cap", you took chalk and drew a square on the pavement/sidewalk, maked the center with an X, then you took a bottle cap (duh!) and put it in the X., 2 people stand on opposite sides of the square across from one another with a basketball (of other type of ball) and throw the ball in the square to the other side, trying to knock the bottle-cap out of the square. It was a super lame game, but we would play for hours.
I also love teather-ball! Although it could get pretty evil.
Red-Rover and Marco Polo were great too.
Rudeness is the weak person's imitation of strength.

I remember playing jax, and hopscotch with my grandma. Miss those days.
Or just playing outside in general. Kids don't do that anymore. They don't know how!! That's why they're fat and lazy!!

We taught the kids at Day Camp to play Red Rover, Red Light, and Mother May I ... they thought we were BRILLANT for having INVENTED these games. We told them this was old school ... how to play w/o a video game or TV
Laissez les bon temps rouler! Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.** a 4 day work week & sex slaves ~ I say Tyt for PRESIDENT! Not to be taken internally, literally or seriously ....Suki ebaynni IS THAT BETTER ?

I loved
dodgeball,
street baseball with sticks and chinaberries,
stuck in the mud (or freezetag),
leap frog,
sidewalk chalk!!!!!!
Blowing bubbles and chasing them,
riding my bike with 2 or 3 other people on it!!!
My kids played them all, and know how to skate and ride a bike
My step son is 9, and thinks we are punishing him when we tell him to go outside and play!! He will just sit in the driveway and pout wanting back to the xbox, or to take his ds outside. He can not ride his bike and has no desire to try.
So hard, not to facepalm some people
