    Cymbalta and memory problems

I was just reading the little insert with Cymbalta and it said memory problems caused by low sodium can be a problem with Cymbalta. I am on a low sodium diet due to bp problems. I have been having memory problems. Has any one else taking Cymbalta noticed memory problems? I'm going to the doctor tomorrow (snow permitting) and I am going to ask him about this. Thanks.

I have been on Cymbalta For many many months now for Anxiety and I have not had any problems with it. The only things I hear that is bad is the withdraw symptoms when you try to get off of them.

Cymbalta is a psychiatric medication, the major side effects of psychiatric medicines are

What are the major side effects of psychiatric medication?

    1. Weight Gain
    2. Sexual Problems
    3. Restlessness, Hyperness, Irritability
    4. Tiredness, drowsiness, clouded thinking, memory problems

Which medications are the most common causes of each of these side effects?

(The medications below are listed in relative frequency to cause these side effects from highest to lowest)

    1. Weight Gain - Zyprexa, Seroquel, Risperdal, Depakote, lithium, mirtazapine, Paxil, Luvox, Prozac, Zoloft, Celexa, Lexapro, Effexor, Cymbalta, Abilify, Geodon, Wellbutrin, Lamictal.
    2. Sexual Problems - SSRI (Prozac, Zoloft, Luvox, Celexa, Paxil, Lexapro), Risperdal, Zyprexa, Seroquel, Mirtazapine, Effexor, Cymbalta, Geodon, Abilify, Strattera, Lamictal, Wellbutrin.
    3. Restlessness, Hyperness, irritability - Geodon, Abilify, Risperdal, Zyprexa, Seroquel, SSRI (Prozac, Zoloft, Luvox, Celexa, Paxil, Lexapro), Wellbutrin, Effexor, Cymbalta.
    4. Tiredness, drowsiness, clouded thinking, memory problems - lithium, Depakote, Seroquel, Zyprexa, Risperdal, Abilify, Geodon, Klonopin, Xanax, Paxil, Luvox, Celexa, Prozac, Zoloft, Lexapro, Remeron, Effexor, Wellbutrin, Cymbalta, Neurontin, Lamictal.

Because cymbalta affects blood chemistry, do NOT stop taking it without taking it without speaking to your doctor, that is a major no no. Until I googled it I had no clue that there were so many side effects of psychiatric drugs. I breifly took Wellbutrin after my divorce and it made me so numb it frightened me, I wasnt depressed because I couldnt feel anything at all. Hope that you get this taken care of, there is so many different meds out there, like I said tho, dont quit your medicine cold turkey without talking with your doctor
