Have you ever bought groceries just once a month?
What do you buy or how much to make it last that long? I'm trying to do this but having a hard time buying enough to last that long. And how much would you spend if you did? I want to get where I only buy them once but its hard to do. I know I'll have to buy milk or bread but other than that I'd like to buy enough to last the whole month. Thanks for any suggestions. And where can I get coupons so I can save as much as possible when I do buy them? Does walmart accept the coupons you print off the computer?

I think it depends on how many people you have in your home, as well as how much storage you have, and if you have a couple of refris or not.

One refrigerator but a big one. Only two people and plenty of cabinet space. Meat I do pretty good at but the other things that go with it I always run out of before the months out. I guess I'll get the hang of it eventually if I keep doing it.

I remember shopping two times a month and that was a stretch. The only reason I went twice a month was because I didn't have my driver's license and hubby hated shopping. Once a month is hard. It's especially hard when my store have weekly sales. I would buy anything I can freeze, including meat, cheese, milk and dry food. Things like Eggs and veggies you would have to go when you are out or when it goes bad.

I usually buy twice a month. With just dh and I (kids grown, snif snif) it is much easier to buy stuff.

I was thinking I'd save money doing it once but I'm starting to think two weeks might be better for us too. At least its a lot easier that way. But I can still stock up where I don't have to buy as much each time. Thanks.

I couldn't do it because I have 2 kids at home who eat me out of house and home. lol Yes, Walmart takes internet printed coupons. You can even print out their coupon policy and carry it with you. I do but haven't had to pull it out yet and I frequent 3 different Walmarts. Target and Meijer take them too. At least mine do. My local grocery store doesn't. They lose a lot of my business because of it too. Good luck. I'm sure by trial and error you'll figure it out to where you will be able to do it.

I've often had dreams of only having to shop once a month! Not an option with 5 of us, 3 boys eat constantly I'm pretty sure of it! If I could shop once a week and NOT have to run out for one or two replacement items I'd be happy lol. Good luck with cutting down your shopping, I myself will try again when the kids are grown =)

I food shop almost daily so there is no way I could do this.
One of my dd's friends mom's does though they have 4 kids and she's tough when they are out of milk that's it until she goes shopping again so they really ration things out.

For the most part, I only shop once a month. I go to BJ's (wholesale club) and buy everything bulk size. The only things I would have to buy daily or weekly is milk, veggies, fruit, etc.
It lasts about a month, sometimes more.

I literally stockpile so except for milk, eggs & bread, I could go months without shopping.....but I like to shop, so I go more often and shop (mostly) only sales.
