I nuke mine..I have a bacon cooking pan with raised slots on it...Put two sheets of paper towel down-load on the bacon and cover with a single sheet...Cook for about 5 min and check it add more time if needed... Towels soak up grease and dish has a place for the drippings to go...

Left over grease is a treat for the outside dog over his kibble..

My mom use to save the bacon grease, and use it to cook with different things, one thing I remember was with fried cabbage. Also with a pot of fresh snapped grean beans.

I bake my bacon in the oven and on top of a cooling rack. Turns out nice and crispy everytime and it doesn't lay in the grease either.

I fry mine. Never thought of baking it. I'll have to try it as it seems like there would be less clean up.

That's what hubby does with ours. We also save the bacon drippings in a special container which we keep in the refrigerator. Sometimes the drippings makes the perfect grease for cooking things.

However...my grandfather was a chef and he taught me to bake it in the oven. He would take a long steel slotted spoon and lay it across a cookie sheet and then drape the bacon over it. It kept most of the bacon out of the grease and it cooked evenly and perfect every time. Plus, it was pretty easy to clean up. So, that's what we used to do before microwaves came along.

I've never thought of baking it. I'll have to try that sometime. We cook ours on the George Foreman grill and it comes out great!
