    Why do people SPAM?

I was just wondering what people get out of doing it? they have to go through all the hassles of creating emails, etc...WHY?

I always get spam from craigslist and can tell the fake emails, but it is the stupid questions that really give it away.

Because they have no life and need to "entertain" themselves.

I always love the ones on craigslist, that try to get you to send them the product & they'll send a money order, yet the address they give with have a 6 digit zip code or something rediculous., like they spell the name of the town wrong.

How sad is it to think that some people actually fall for spam? Who buys drugs from an email, sends money to Nigeria to get an inheritance from relatives they've never heard of and blindly sends their bank info to strangers?

    Millions of people.
If they weren't buying, or falling for that crap, spammers wouldn't be around.

Believe it or not the Nigerian scam has been around longer than most people have had internet service. We use to get brown envelopes they looked like paper bags and in them were the letters from Nigeria. They had a story in our local paper about them one day and it had a phone # to report them too. So when I got one at the office (we would get them every 3 or 4 weeks) I called the number - it was the Secret Service. They had me put it in another envelope & send it via UPS or FedEx to them in Atlanta. I know I have sent at least a few dozen of these weird things to them. If the scammers were not getting people to bite they wouldn't be doing the scam.
