Since it's cold and Flu season, what do you swear by ?

What medications or homemade remedy do you use?

    Mucinex and Nyquil for me.

What do you do for a sore thraot?

I usually don't use over the counter medicines, they never work that good for me plus I have high blood pressure and have to be careful what I take.
For a cough I usually suck on hard card, I don't care for cough drops and some of them make me cough more.
For a sore throat I will drink some warm tea to sooth it.

Is that your Pug in your avatar? If so, what is the care like on them? I read they shed alot and you have to be careful with there face I guess where they have wrinkles you have to clean them like daily where the wrinkles are? I have cats and said I think if I were to ever get a dog I'd consider one of those. But after reading up on them a little they some like a lot of care has to go into them. Keep in mind I have never had a dog so I don't know if what I read is normal for a dog or not.

Yep, that's my Pug. They LOVE people ! They do shed alot, but I brush him almost everyday and that helps alot. I clean is nose wrinkle a few times a week, it's easy just a damp cloth. I don't think I have to care for him any more then any other dog. They are VERY good, easy to train and like I said they love people, especially kids.

I also drink tea with honey for a sore throat.

Thanks for the info. I had read they were people dogs and good with kids. If I decide to go with a dog one day it may be a pug.
But with 7 cats in the house and 2 have kidney problems and take medicine, plus my granddaughter and her mom live here and I watch the 4 year old granddaughter while daughter works. I don't think I need any more to care for right now.

I am so sick right now. I take lorcet, 2 of them, and try to make myself unconscious. I use Afrin, I drink lots of fluid. I was a hospital floor nurse and was exposed to everything. This is the first cold/flu whatever I've had in 20 years. I had forgotten how miserable they make me. But my grandchildren were here poking their little sick fingers in my mouth and kissing on me. It was worth it.

If you're sick. don't let the grandkids kiss on you..they end up with it too. Hope you feel better.

I use tussin syrup. Can't take Nyquil cuz of the alcohol. Usually I rest a lot, take ibuprofin and drink a lot of fluid

Yep, that's how I got this. They were sick and I let them kiss on me and cuddle with me and of course put food in my mouth. I'm gonna try some cherry nyquil. Thanks for the suggestion.
