No police for this event. Everyone was quite orderly...but they did have Mall security at the base of the escalator to keep a pathway clear.
Where we were standing at the balcony...the sound was quite different from what those on the floor heard. There were easily over 500 voices singing. Our friends on the floor said that it sounded just like the video. The orchestration was taped...but the voices were all live.

Well one place had police clear out some people since there were too many. I can relate though. I remember when the walkway in a Kansas City mall gave away and fell on the people below. It was a walkway though and not an upper story, plus it wasn't built right.
I'm glad you enjoyed it and it was permitted. I wonder if any of these gatherings need to get permission first?

The music pastor who organized this definitely had to get permission from the mall. For one thing...there were hook-ups for the speakers which played the music. These were big speakers. Plus, there was 'traffic' control provided by the mall.
I'm not sure small flash mobs do get permission, but something of this size had to be planned for ahead of time.

I do recall hearing that story, I didn't catch where that was. The amount of people that had showed up for that was way more weight than the mall could handle.
