This is a nice thread. I have ZERO Christmas Spirit this year... several unfortunate events have conspired... no tree, no decorations, no lights, got the gifts for the kids wrapped just yesterday. Maybe Meg and I can make something tomorrrow.

My computer crashed - as in it caught on FIRE ! - house was robbed - made more of a mess then anything - several deaths since Thanksgiving, some expected some not .... just hard to get "in the Spirit" this year. We have our health, food in the pantry, gifts under the tree, family and friends who love us and occasionally more and money in the bank. So we are doing better then some. Hope to get a new computer and DSL for Christmas, so maybe I'll be back more. On dial up, the BBS system usually lists me as "banned" for some reason and others I can get in fine.

I don't make any of that stuff...My son & I don't care much for sweets.

My husband eats it faster than I can make it. So far -- 2 batches of fudge, 3 batches of shortbread, 3 batches of peanut butter cookies, nanaimo bars, oatmeal cookies, lemon cheesecake bars, 3 batches of butter tarts, white chocolate almond bark, mincemeat tarts. No more baking at this house!!!
Didn't even list all the wings, meatballs, spanakopita, artichoke squares and other savory items.

What a nice thread. I don't make many goodies. I made a couple of pies and some peanutbutter fudge. I don't make cookies, my cookies are horrible. They are suitable only for our troops to throw at the enemy.
Jolie, I am so sorry that you have had so many problems this Christmas season. Hope by now things are looking up for you.

Thank you for the kind thoughts... I have missed on online family. Things will get better, and the sorrows will ease. BTW - Meg and I made the potato candy for the family Christmas party - it was llike nothing they had tried before ( around here that is quite a feat ) and it was very popular. May I share the recipe ?

who's potato candy recipe are you talking about?? LOL
If it's mine, sure thing.
just had a thought, just use straight potatoes, nothing added like cream or milk in them, it sets better, and it also firms better if you leave it in the fridge. That is my mothers recipe, remember having it every year.
