I just had a person from the Harvest Group---

come to my door. He looked Muslim and said, "Have a blessed day" when I said I was not interested.

Are we now going to have Muslims going door to door? I noticed tents set up outside the Mosque we have near us. We have lots of Muslims here going to university, etc. I wonder if they are proselytizing now.

Ok, you said he LOOKED muslim and said "have a blessed day" (something my entire family, christian btw, puts at the end of their voice mails and emails)... so how do you KNOW he was muslim? Are you that paranoid? I looked up Harvest Group and unless it's particular to your area then all I could find was christian sites.

Muslims aren't composed solely of one particular racial/ethnic group, therefore it is not accurate to say one looks Muslim. Maybe you meant he looked Middle Eastern? Though not every Middle Eastern individual has features that are unique to that particular group of individuals. Also not every individual of Middle Eastern descent is of the Muslim faith. I dunno.....

That is why I am asking. Guess I should have asked for literature he had but I did not want to encourage him plus I was here alone so I did not want any man to come in unless they were here to fix something and I was expecting them.

I am just curious since I saw the tents and this gentleman sort of bowed when he said "blessed or blest" day. He looked Muslim since he was black but not African American. Maybe he was Christian though. ???? I have never heard of the organization. My neighbors may know.

Muslim is a religion. You can't "look Muslim" anymore than you can look Episcopalian.

I would have been concerned that he was by himself. Any religious organazation I have ever had in my neihborhood has always been in multiples, usually 2-3 people, and always a woman with them.

How was he dressed? I would be concerned he was scoping the neighborhood out to find out when people were home. You can't be too safe these days.

People have said I "look Catholic" - usually after finding out that I am the youngest of nine children.

If the Seventh Day Adventist, the Jevhova Witnesses and the Baptist's all "go door to door" - why not someone else ??
Laissez les bon temps rouler! Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.** a 4 day work week & sex slaves ~ I say Tyt for PRESIDENT! Not to be taken internally, literally or seriously ....Suki ebaynni IS THAT BETTER ?

I don't know, I guess I am Islamophobic, I can add that to all the other phobias I have.

I guess I saw the tents outside the mosque and put 2 and 2 together to think about them.

I could think he was Catholic but I know we don't go door to door.

If I know what the Harvest Group is I will let you know.

In a way you can look a certain way in certain religions. Like Pentecostal women in the churches I've been to have long hair usually up and long dresses or skirts and long sleeves. While the men are clean shaven and short hair. The women don't wear jewelry or makeup either. And the Muslim religion most of them dress a certain way too.

I see Amish/Mennonite women around here as well. Long old fashioned dresses and hair up. LOL, sometimes I look just like them but I try to dress more up to date. Heck most times I wear pants and shorts.
