    Training new employee at work

I've trained probably thousands of people in my lifetime, at various jobs throughout the years. I've had great trainees. I've had awful trainees.
    Last night I had a 29 year old trainee who didn't know how to count 5's. You know 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30.
I really thought I had seen it all., but this is a first for me.

Considering everything in school is taught on computers anymore, it doesn't surprise me one bit!

Not at 29. She graduated in 99. So its not like she had computers in Elementary / Middle School. Maybe when she was a Freshman in 95. I'm sure if I ask'd my 10yr old neighbor if he knew his 5s, he'd ba able to recite them for me.

Yes. GRRRR! Thats what I'm training her on.
    Oy-Vey!

She also says to me last night, "Do we have a refridgerator?" - Granted we have a 9 ft. cooler / refridgerator with beer & soda. I said, " We have one of the biggest refridgerators in the world." She had no clue what I was talking about, like it didn't faze her that the place that keeps the beer cold, is the same place that keeps my lunch cold.
Then she says , "Oh, yeah... I meant like a little mini-fridge that I can put up front here by the register." So I say, "The 9 ft walk to the back of the cooler would be too much for you?" , She says , "Yeah, I'm that lazy."

Hey now they did have computers in the class rooms back in those dark ages. Heck we had them when I was in High School and I graduated in 1981.

Honestly why don't you just fire her now and save yourself the headache. If she is that lazy she isn't going to show up half the time anyway. Good luck. I thought I had it bad working with the bosses son in law. At least he can count by 5's.
