If you are going to buy one, I would advise to get a garmin. Go to www.Garmin.com and you can compare units for what you need it for. I have the Nuvi 265t which has traffic also. Look around for the best price which I found on amazon. Best Buy and Target seem to have the best prices for stores. I paid just a little over 100. for it. They have came way down in price from when they were first introduced.
Hope that helped. And I love mine!!!

I have an Omni and love mine too, easy to update.

We have a Tomtom, but from my experience and talking to others, get a Garmin. They are better. Also, when you get one, play with it before you need it so you get to know it. I am forever fumbling when DH has me take charge of ours.
We had us, we had him, now we have everything.

I have it on my cell phone. We recently took a trip to New Orleans and it worked WONDERFULY. It even helps you find places to eat and BATHROOMS. LOL ( I have a HTC Droid Eris from Verizon)

When my sisters & I took a trip up north last fall, one of them used the occasion to buy a TomTom. She probably entered wrong info or something but the 'chick' was telling us to turn right at next exit, turn right at next exit, turn right at next exit, turn right at next exit and then she just kept saying turn right, turn right, turn right. LOL! Cracked us up and provided entertainment on a long trip. Jean never did figure out what she did wrong and acknowledged that she needs to spend more time with it because I doubt that it was the GPS' fault.

I have a tom tom and I love it but to buy new updated maps are so expensive I just never have ((more then I paid for the unit itself))
Work like you don't need money, love like you've never been hurt, And dance like no one's watching

I guarantee that those updates are a lot less than the DVD's for my Nav system in my Jeep. Mine are $ 199.00 plus tax every year - thankfully you don't have to update them every year if you don't want to.
You might want to check on how much the updates are for each unit before you purchase them.
