Do you have your wisdom teeth?
ds was just at the oral surgeon and I was so disappointed to hear he'd probably need all 4 wisdom teeth taken out since all 4 of mine came in perfectly straight -- the oral surgeon said I was extremely lucky

I don't have any teeth!! LOL
I was unfortunate enough to have two sets of bottom sets of wisdom teeth. I had all of my WT removed when I was 16 and when I had all the rest pulled, the 2nd set came in 7 months later. They were so low in my jaw, x-rays never caught them.
I will tell you that I have a new appreciation for teething babies now!

All 4 of mine came in perfectly straight, but one of them broke so I had to have it pulled. I do still have the other 3.

Well, crap. I voted that they were all removed, but only the top ones were removed, the bottom ones are still there.

I had all four of mine done back in the 1970's when they admitted you into the hospital overnight. Both of my kids still have theirs but my oldest has to get them extracted.

I don't have mine, dentist has no idea why. I didn't have them removed, I just don't think I have them. I'm not going to complain because I heard they're quite painful when they do come in.

Had all four of mine extracted at the same time - one was impacted, two growing in sideways. They would have over-crowded my other teeth and pushed them out of whack, so it was a good thing.

All 4 of mine were removed. Only 1 was impacted. I swore after going thru the pain of a tooth being impacted I wouldn't do it again. Had them pulled in 2 sessions.
I have read this for years about wisdom teeth and why we have them:
While there is no way to verify this theory, some dentists speculate that wisdom teeth are a vestige from the days when our ancestors literally bit off more than they could chew on a daily basis.
It's thought that the Stone Age diet often consisted of coarse, rough foods that required more chewing power. As a result, the jawbones of our ancestors were larger and accommodated 32 teeth with ease. In addition, in the wild, teeth had a tendency to fall prey to decay or get knocked out. If someone lost a tooth, the wisdom teeth would usually push the rest forward to fill in the gap.
However, evolution continued and the human diet changed to include softer, more processed foods that were less challenging to our pearly whites and jaws. Losing teeth became less of an issue, and wisdom teeth served less and less of a purpose. Today, most of us don't have the need or room for these extra molars. Wisdom tooth extraction is a common procedure, and usually requires just a few hours in the oral surgeon's office, followed by a few days of chipmunk-cheeked discomfort.Name for a new country song: If I'd Shot You Sooner, I'd Be Out of Jail by Now.

I have 1 left. The last one was impacted, and it was decaying, and the dentist said he was afraid to remove it because he was afraid he would break my jaw, so he sent me to the oral surgeon. I got the good drugs, lol. The roots on those suckers go to china.
