    minimum wage increase?

I keep hearing that minimum wage is going up in June. I live in WV and minimum wage is $7.25, People Keep telling me it's going up to $7.75 or $8.00. But I can not find anything about it, Does anyone know where I can look to see if it will be going up or not? Thanks

When I checked their State website it forwarded you to the Federal Minimum wage website so I am guessing that they don't have a State mandated rate. Some Cities can set wages and you would have to check those individually. But there is not a Federal minimum wage increase set for this year.

Ok. I was just making a point. I know some states have a minimum wage, had no clue if W.V. did or not.

up the wages, up the prices (of living), sounds good, but it all evens out in the long run.

Don't get me wrong, I would love an increase !!

    try this link: www.dol.gov/whd/minwage/america.htm

As for an increase, it doesn't look to be in the cards for your state. But that is a very good website that can give you the info you need. Good Luck!!

I don't know how long a minimum wage increase helps. Has anyone ever seen it calculated? I imagine it could help for a month or maybe 2 but after that , as said before, everything else goes up so it doesn't help in the long run. A 25 or 50 cents an hour raise sounds wonderful but if the price of bread goes up for $1.40 to $1.80 and everything else goes up too, then it didn't help any.

In my years and different wages, I can tell you one thing for sure.

The more you make, the more you spend. LOL
