Trouble Losing Baby Weight HELP!!!
A little background info: I'm 32 and my present weight fluctuates between 168 and 170. I am currently in a snug size 12 and I refuse to go up another size. I put on somewhere between 40-50lbs during my pregnancy. Now in all honesty I did start putting on a little weight when I went back to work before I became pregnant with my third child. I think that was mostly due to stress. But now he will be two this month and I am still at my pregnancy weight. I also have belly bulge which I have never had to deal with before as my prior weight gain that remained from my other two settled around my hips and thighs within a few months after delivery.
I have tried several diet pills and they don't seem to work. They either make me jittery or they upset my stomach. I got down to a size 4 (smallest size of my life) when I was 26 doing the firm (transfirmer) and Mari Winsor Pilates. But I just don't seem to have the energy any more to keep up with even the starter DVD. I guess I am looking for advice. Does someone have a program that worked really well for them? I know that theirs nothing out there than can make me drop 50 pounds in a week {short of liposuction ** but if I could just see consistent progress 3-5 lbs a week I would be ecstatic. I just feel like I'm killing myself and those stupid numbers on the scale won't budge.

I do weight watchers, and it works well if you follow the plan.

I did the Progesso Soup diet...
eat a simple breakfast (nothing fried, and add fruit)
1 can of progesso soup at lunch with a peice of fruit
fruit and crackers as a snack
1 can of progesso soup at dinner
No sodas at all... water, coffee, tea, juice...
Walked 3 to 5 miles a day (not run, just walked... you can even push a stroller)
I lost weight... went from a 16 to a 4 in 5 months
So hard, not to facepalm some people

Do you eat the whole can of soup at one meal? I noticed the calorie count on
the soups is for half a can. I tried that for a while (eating both servings). However, I just ate a can's worth for lunch and then had whatever I fixed for the family for dinner. I ate a 90 calorie granola bar for breakfast. I also drank nothing but water for an entire month. I don't know if I could walk that far, especially in the Georgia heat. I've lived here most of my life but I still don't have that much tolerance for it. I have been pushing my toddler around in his little red push car that he got for Christmas last year around the neighborhood. He refused to sit in a stroller, but he seems to like riding in it and it has a seatbelt to keep him in. We go from the middle street in the subdivision where our house is to the outer street and back around. If I
had to guess I would say it was between 1 and 2 miles at the most. It is getting to be about 75 degrees by 10 am now so we have to get out early. I like to be out no later than 9. Just late enough to miss the school buses. I have a cardio cruiser. I may bring that upstairs to supplement my cardio. At least then I will be in the AC

Diet pills dont work. DIETS dont work period. You gotta change your whole way of life. Eating MORE seems like a bad thing but its actually the best thing you can do. Maybe try 6 small meals every day just make sure you incorporate good things(such as protein, etc) and less of the bad things. Just make sure you remember that its OK to fall off once in awhile. If you want a brownie eat it just make sure your not eating 10 brownies. Make sure you exercise also. Anything you can do..push the stroller around the park for 10 minutes, play tag with your kids(sorry idk how old they are) ride a bicycle for 15 minutes. People watch The Biggest Loser, which a good show, and think OH 5 pounds a week Im doing something wrong. Thats not true. Another suggestion..only weigh yourself once a week. If you do it every day it makes you more discouraged. Different things work for different people so youll have to do some trial and error but youll eventually find what works. Something else..if you want pizza order it but when you get it home cut the slices one more time then you trick your body into thinking your eating more because theres more slices there so you think wow ive ate 6 slices I need to put it away..when you really only ate 3.
Whether you take my word or not I dont know Ive never had to diet but I know others who have and I do watch alot of informative shows(lol not much help but hey Im trying)

Eat small healthy meals, salads, fruits, veggies, throughout the day. Watch your calorie intake. Eat more often and eat better. You simply have to exercise for effective weight loss. Walking, cycling, anything aerobic.

that is what weight watchers tries to teach people to do, to eat differently. The biggest loser is a farce, people get discouraged when they see that people there lose 20 pounds in a week, but that is not healthy weight loss, and those people work out 7 days a week, all day. When they get home, most regain that weight.

I heard that about that show too. There's no way most people would keep up that rigorous program without accountability.

Typically your goal should be 1 to 2 lbs per week. Take your scale and throw it away. That is the most discouraging thing on earth. A friend of mine threw hers away and said "I know I lost weight since I put on my panties this morning, stood up and they fell to the floor:" Eating healthy and exercise are the only way and Mini is correct you have to change your life not just go on a diet. Otherwise it will just creep back on. Good luck.

Eat less at mealtime. (smaller servings) Eat more healthfully at mealtime. Burn more calories than you take in. Exercise. Drinks plenty of water. Totally agree with Mini! Do not diet. Find a more healthful way to live..........every single day. Not just diet til you have reached your goal weight. Weight just comes back easily if you don't maintain.
