Packing for my moved to Denver

I started really packing yesterday for my big move. It finally hit me while I was packing that I'm really doing this. I cried most of the day. I'm still going but it is really making me sad. I've been in Iowa for 20 years, made lots of friends, have a lot of memories here. I didn't realize how hard this was going to hit me. The tears started again this morning.

Anyway, the big day is this Thursday. I get the U-haul on Wednesday, load it up and plan on getting up really early Thursday to start the drive. I get my apartment Friday and will have the weekend to settle in.

    Here's to new beginnings.

I hope your move and trip go well. I know how hard it is too leave your life. I'm hoping and praying that you will have a great future at your new place.
Why are you moving? and do you know anyone in Denver? I know you are very emotional right now...and it's hard not to cry. BUT be happy...and know that you are starting again at a new place...and all will be good! Hoping the best for you at your new place!

Ok dry those tears and get that stuff packed. You will make new friends and if the old ones are true friends you never loose them you just add on more, plus they now have a friend in Denver they can go visit. I would be scared to death but I am sure this is the right move or you wouldn't have pursued it. Be careful driving.

I moved from Upstate NY when I was 18 to Morris County NJ. That was a big change but I was still with my folks. Then when I was 26, I moved out of their house to the Bergen County, NJ area. That was a big change too. I lived in NJ until I was 38, and then I moved to Indiana. Now that was a really big change. I was very homesick for the first couple of months. I have no family around here, but I have made many friends. Now I'm glad to be in Hoosier Land, and so is my DH

To get flowers, you need more than sunshine, you need chit and rain too

Shellysms, I am transfering with my job to Denver. I don't know anyone there except a couple of co-workers.

SLance68, surprisingly I'm not scared, but I've always been a very independent person. I'm still excited about the new adventure just sad at the same time.

Thanks for all the well wishes.

I can see why you are sad but you have to look at it as starting a new part of your life. You will make new friends there and keep your old ones if they are true friends. You will be able to talk to your family and email them. I know this is a big transition for you but I feel it is the right one or you wouldn't have pursued the transfer. Good luck! I know you are going to be fine.
