    something you never see anymore

When have you seen someone with curlers in her hair?

What do you remember that we never see anymore?

During one of our events last month, one of our patrons had a pager. I didn't know that they were around anymore lol

I remember when DH and I got our first pager. I was pregnant with our fist DD and I needed a way to contact him in case I went into labor. We had codes with our first one (143, 911 etc..), then I was thrilled when they came out with pagers that scrolled text lol

    Geeze I feel old!

That is funny that you mention curlers. I just reorganized my upstairs bathroom and came across a brand new pack of curlers that I took of my mom's after she passed. I almost tossed them, but just couldn't.

One thing I was thinking about recently was radar detectors. I don't think that people really have those like they used to. I recall in the mid 90's they were the "thing".
We had us, we had him, now we have everything.

going into a store and having a "soda fountain" or restaurant in the middle of the store. when i was little, i loved to walk downtown to GC Murphy's with my mom and after shopping, we would sit at the counter and have a soda or a rootbeer float before walking back home. oh and at the checkout, they would have "mexican jumping beans"!!! LMAO!! which was just some kind of larvae in a bean that would move around and make you think it was "jumping"!

My mom used rollers in her hair before she got sick. I never could understand how she could sleep on them. After she got cancer she just wore a shorter cut. She was so thankful she didn't lose her hair from the chemo. I saw a lady a few weeks ago that had a beehive hairdo and I hadn't saw anyone wear their hair like that in probably 20 years.

Well, I am an old lady. I remember ladies pin curling their hair. Some of the gals around my age at the time would pull their hair back in a pony tail and pin curl that. I seem to even remember ladies curling their hair with those twist tie things that came on bags of ground coffee. I remember the orange juice cans too. Haven't seen any of that in years and years. H aven't seen curlers in a womans hair either. LOL, I still have some of those.

I don't hear anything about CB Radios anymore. I think they went when the cell phones came.

There is still radar detectors out there. I listen to a truckers radio program on the radio from time to time and they advertise one.

This is still around but people just don't do it anymore....writing letters and mailing them. I still do write letters on occasion. While growing up I loved choosing stationary and different colored pens to write with.

Man oh man. I used to hate those pink curlers. I dreaded Saturday nights. My mother would make me sit for hours w/ that wooden Goody brush and pop me w/ it every time I wasn't still enough for her to get that curler in... and sleeping in them was even worse. It truly made me not want to go to Church as a child ... lol. Now I'd give anything for her to be around to do it!

I know they still sell the Radar Detectors, I see them occasionally in stores... and CB radios... while not common, there is a pretty big group that still uses them here... you can always tell who they are cause they seem to have 20 foot antenas on their vehicles.

We had one of those stores here too, and we loved going to town and getting to sit at the counter, if we had to sit at the booth, it was not the same, lol.
