    That's government spending for you!

In today's mail we got a letter from the census bureau telling us that in about a week or so we'll be getting a census form and to be sure to fill it out and return it. Couldn't they have put those instructions in the letter that comes with the actual census form? How many of these letters did they send out all across America and how much did it cost them?! Sheesh!!

Well now you know they had to mail them since the Post Office is in a 8 billion dollar hole and sending them kept a bunch of government employees employed so that we can say we are getting past this recession.

Its gonna cost a heck of a lot more in paying people to go to all the houses who dont turn in their forms.

Yep, my sister is one of those doing the census, she's making $11.00 an hour plus milage.

accurate count of residents can do for your community. Better infrastructure. More services. A brighter tomorrow for everyone. In fact, the information the census collects helps to determine how more than $400 billion dollars of federal funding each year is spent on infrastructure and services like:

    •Hospitals
    •Job training centers
    •Schools
    •Senior centers
•Bridges, tunnels and other-public works projects
    •Emergency services
    Participation isn't just important—it's mandatory.

    Yes, it is important.

They did that because so many people won't bother to send them in. This is a costly expense the government is undertaking. And getting an accurate census is important for so many reasons.

Do they really think that will make them send it in? They either will or won't.....they probably won't even open it up....neither envelope.
