If the dog was old and sick then I don't think that is bad since she didn't have much time left anyway but not a young healthy dog. Dogs can readjust.

I had a boyfriend who moved out of town and had his cat put to sleep just because he was moving. I'm glad we broke up. That is just creepy.

When my dad died, he was buried with a pint of peach brandy, new nephews racing trophy, a pack of chewing tobacco, a several picts. of his grandkids. My nephews racing gloves was in his pocket.

With my daughter one of the nurses gave her a UNC ram the day she was born and it was with her.

I can understand the old dog, but not the young. A friend of ours says that he is to be buried in his hunting truck and his hunting dogs are to be with him.

yes, this dog was extrememly old.... like I mentioned, she would not eat, drink, move, let anyone touch her if he was not there, or was gone, it's like her life ended when his did. She was sick quit a bit and wouldn't keep food down or eat..... You would have had to see her to understand..... I believe my MIL made the right choice.
If it was a healthy dog, no way in hell!!, that would just be selfish.

My Dad was a radio aficionado and always had a transistor radio with him everywhere he went. So of course we left one in the casket for him. He was buried at a National cemetery but yrs before, when my parents were thinking about buying burial plots, he checked to see if they were allowed to put up a shortwave radio antenna on the plot (kind of his joke that he wanted to listen to shortwave radio even buried).
    Keep your chin up!

When my FIL died it seemed that people just kept adding things. One friend put a cigar in his pocket, then another did the same. That set off a frantic search for a lighter. One was finally found and saved the day. One son slipped him a beer and then a buddy gave him a second. When asked why he said "Wahoo was never without a beer for a friend". That made us all cry.

My grandmother had a new outfit (she always said she didn't have to worry, her daughter in law would buy her something beautiful) in the red she adored. We gave her pictures of all of us and the program from her church the Sunday after she died.

It was all important stuff in their lives.

When my mom passed away, I put some pics of the kids in her hand and a rose from each of the kids. That is one of the few things I do remember from when she passed. It was such a shock, still is.
    Your stupidity still amazes me.

Really, I wish I had put something with my Daddy. He died so suddenly that it hit me like a ton of bricks and I couldn't think about anything really except my Daddy was gone.

My mom had cancer and knew she wasnt going to live long, she asked that we put a picture of all her grandkids on her casket instead of the drape of flowers they usually put there, and that when the service ended, she said the picture was to be put in her casket. My neice put a small pillow that had her name printed on it, and 2 of my sisters wrote letters to Mom. she always had klenix in her jacket pocket, so we made sure her jacket in the pant suit she was buried in had some in it.

My oldest son buried a Snickers candy bar with my Dad because they always used to watch sports together & eat Snickers.
