    Anyone ever take the test?

To be a census worker? Ours is on Saturday and I am going but am a tad nervous lol. There are 28 questions and it is timed. You only get 30 minutes to finish it. Just curious as to the questions that are on it.

I worked as a supervisor in 2000 and took the test last fall for 2010. It's a piece of cake. If you score 25 out of 30 or 24 out of 28 they consider you for a crew leader position. It's just common sense, go slow and pay attention to the wording, it can be tricky.

What does a crew leader/supervisor do? The told me I could keep taking the test until I got a better score on the phone when I made my appt. I was going to reschedule as I could not find my birth certificate or SS card (told me I needed two pieces of id (drivers license, birth cert or SS card) but foun d a pocket birth cert in an old purse. I have not looked at the practice test yet. got test at 1pm today. Thinking I should throw it or miss it and reschedule.

They probably will not accept the "pocket birth certificate". It has to be a certified copy of the birth certificate. It should have an embossed (raised) stamp on it.

A crew leader is just a sort of supervisor. They deal with the paperwork the crew of enumerators bring in each day, assist with any difficulties ( my favorite was naked guy, but before it got too bad he became dead guy and made my job easier) the people have and report to the area manager. They will also have at least one assistant. The crew leaders usually carry on with work until later in the year. I worked off and on until mid 2001. When it came time to start going to prisons to interview inmates I decided I was done.

It was a fun little job and I look forward to doing it again this year.
