I got a necklace/earring set that I think is nice and some very comfy slippers from a family friend, a butterfly belly button ring from my brother and SIL, and dad let me pick my gifts which I mostly chose practical things(undies, bras, socks, and a few other things). Still got one more to get but its gonna be shower gel and body spray

    Talking

Dad sent me and John each a Visa Gift Card... $50 a piece. Mom got me: Dearfoam slippers/clogs, a nice shirt for work, a Laura Ashley PJ set, VIP by Bijan, a nice defuser in "Fresh Rain" scent, my annual Christmas moose, a candle the scent of mistletoe with a christmas themed topper, and uh... this AWESOME picture frame and she put a picture in of me and John at the wedding, and the frame plays "How Sweet It Is" and she got John a couple of nice shirts, a coffee mug from Starbucks, and a NICE shower mirror.
John got me a cell phone - Virgin Mobile limited edition Mantra (in purple), this cool desk caddy that has the U of Michigan logo on it, Celine Dion's Enchanting perfume, a shoe organizer... and various stocking stuff- mainly candy.
Our friends Olivia and William got us a late wedding gift (Pyrex mixing bowls and a candle), and for Christmas: I got a bathset and John got a DVD collection of these obscure horror movies.
My friend at work got me a cute little giftset (butter cookies).

Best gift of all though was John giving my church a chance and went to Midnight service with me. Although it was not his style or core beliefs...he tried and that meant a lot. I'm United Methodist, and John is a Gnostic...note he's NOt Agnostic!!! If you're confused on what a Gnostic is look it up.

That is very sweet of your hubby to go to church with you on Christmas. I saw a girl who recently got married but she was with her parents and no hubby with them. Maybe he will go next year.

Oh trust me there was a big ordeal leading up to this... LOL! I am a very strict Methodist... I cannot even stand the idea that my church has a more modern service. I am 100% traditional, set in my ways. I jokingly told him we're the strict/boring Christians. LMAO! Over he agreed with it, but there's some key points that Gnostics and Methodists/Baptists, etc. clash on as a whole...and boy did our Pastor cover them all. ;-) John did enjoy the general message which is/was "Jesus IS Love". But we did a lot of singing and praying...the whole sit and stand on command thing.
Not sure if he'll ever go again...

My ds bought me a KitchenAid mixer, a rice steamer & minutes for my cell phone. His g/f bought me a snowman, which I collect, B&BW stress bubble bath (how did she know I am stressed) & a Dunkin Donuts g/c.

My Mom is buying me new glasses whenever I find the time to go & get an eye exam. She is also paying for a root canal on a tooth that the filling broke off.

My family is so into practical gifts *LOL*

I didn't get anything. Aggie received 2-dvd's he's been wanting, a new coffee pot, socks, 5 new shirts, 4 $50.00 gc to Border's, his favorite candies, Aggie flag to hang in his den.

Not to mention our wedding anniversary was on the 15th. Didn't get anything for that either. Aggie received a new keychain, gc to Best Buy for $50.00, new jeans.

His birthday is this month too.....he received his traditional birthday cake (yes, I made it), new mouse for computer, a photo album of the years we've been married, carton of cigarettes, a bottle of rum for his eggnog, delivery from Omaha Steaks (he loves their food).

Yes, I'm upset. I went to a lot of trouble to get everything he wanted for all the celebrations. Brother didn't come over. They spent Christmas w/dw's family.

Aunt is in Thailand visiting her son. I paid my aunt's way to Thailand as one of her gifts. She really wanted to see him. Hopefully she's having a wonderful time.

Just like last year he sees no reason for me to be upset. He says he married me and that's enough. I have jewelery and don't need anymore, Closet full of clothes.

I kept reminding him 2 weeks before Christmas it wasn't the "gift" that counted it was the thought. Guess I'm not worthy of being thought about.

I'm hoping it won't be another viasco like last year when Aggie made an attempt after Christmas to buy me something.....they were all appliances that I didn't want, wouldn't use. I made him take them all back. When he wouldn't or refused I took them back.

He also doesn't feel guilty one bit. If we'd agreed not to buy each other gifts that would of been fine but we didn't.

Still have presents under the tree for nieces and nephews who are coming on Monday. So it will be another Christmas gathering for us.

    Happy New Year everybody.
