    Cleaning questions?

    I have 2 questions:

First in our new house we have corian sinks, what works best to clean them? I thought maybe soft scrub, but when I called them to make sure it was ok to use they said it was not recommended.

2nd- We have walk in tile showers, a friend of mine said you can use pledge to spray on the tile walls to repell the water and that helps keep them clean. Has anyone tried this or heard if it works?
I don't want to ruin the tile or spend hours trying to clean it off if it doesn’t really work.

    TIA!!

If you had them on the phone, why didnt you ask what they suggest you use?

If your shower is clean(I mean no current buildup), get a Scrubbing Bubbles shower thingy and use it. It keeps things nice and un-mildewy, but isnt so great on getting rid of gunk already built up.

If your shower has any build up ask your DH if he has any rubbing compound - it is used on cars to clean the finish before waxing and it will clean anything off the tile. I would not use one of those Scrubbing Bubble Shower sprayers I had one and it was useless.

As for the Corian - call them back and ask them or google their site and it should tell you what to use.

Well the shower is very clean(tile and grout) and I want to keep it that way...lol
I have the Mr Bubble sprayer but it leaves spots on the walls.

As for the sink when I called soft scrub they said their product was not recommended so of course they wont recommend someone elses...lol

I wouldnt really know, but I think if you sprayed Pledge in there, it would make it dangerously slick in there.

Don't use the Pledge...please. It does work and really well. However, Aggie and I were staying with some friends a few years ago and the woman sprayed Pledge on her tile to keep it clean. As soon as Aggie went to take a shower he became really sick. The heat from the water made the smell more intense and he couldn't hold on to anything.....it was way to slippery. Accident just waiting to happen.

I have one of those Scrubbing Bubble machines. When the cleaning fluid is empty I put 1/2 vinegar and 1/2 water in it. Works really well. I haven't had to clean any scum or buildup off the shower in months.

If I'm out of vinegar I use 1/2 bleach and 1/2 water. Both really do work well.

How do you get liquid into it, it has the self sealing seal...

Aggie cut a hole in the bottle and plugged it up with a piece of cork. Took Aggie all of about 5 minutes to do it.

I don't really have any suggestions but we have the tiles in our shower and I use soft scrub to clean the walls and the tub all the time. One thing that we also do is dry the shower walls and the tub down with a towel after taking a shower. It helps keep the walls cleaner and it also helps prevent mold.
