Speaking of New Englanders
How is everyone doing with this weather? Has anyone lost power yet? They are saying this ice storm could be as bad as the one in 1998
We have inches of ice and it is showing no sign of letting up right now. The power lines are sagging everything is a soild sheet of ice. You go outside and you need a hard hat. Take care on the roads !!!

Yeah I posted somewhere earlier that we were without power for few hours. The power lines are hanging pretty low and the trees are covered in ice. We've got a bunch of downed limbs and I hate to see it by daylight. I'm hoping the power doesn't go out again. The freezing rain/ice is coming down so heavy. I'd prefer a foot or more of snow, at least you can drive in that! Ev, where in NE are you? Keep safe, everyone!

I'm sitting here in the dark on battery power on the lapper. Almost the entire city is without power. Streets are impassible with trees all over the roads. Plows are out to remove debris from the streets. Everytime I try to fall asleep I hear the crash of limbs and trees falling. Scary sh!t. Hopefully the power will be back on later. Please say a few prayers that we son't get much damage.

for those that haven't experienced an ice storm...
it's extremely dangerous, but in the daylight it's beautiful... it's like a fantasy crystal world.
2 days from now, tomorrow will be yesterday.

We haven't had any ice but it is raining and we had very strong winds earlier this morning. It's quieted down a lot over the past hour. There are a lot of branches in the driveway.

Well, luckily, this has not been as bad as the ice storm in '98. We went for days without power then. We lost power sometime during the night last night and regained it a short time ago. Things are pretty icy outside, but the roads seem to be pretty clear from what I can see. It's till raining, though.

Please stay safe everyone.
Posts like this remind me why DH & I packed up the family & moved south.
If you lose power, please remember to turn everything off, so you don't have any other problems.

I am in VT and we lost power last night had to get the woodstove fired up and my mom is still without power. I would have to drive in it but this was my 2 days off from work. When my mom went to work there were trees and down powerlines everywhere and the weather channel says more ice expected. We havent had any rain it has been an all ice event they have called in extra power crews putting them up in hotels and they dont know how long it will be before some get power back. It is pretty bad I will try to get some pictures.
