From what I understand, the money is going to those who don't have paychecks coming in on top of their Social Security benefits.
People receiving paychecks are seeing similar amounts of money but spread out over each paycheck. This is all part of the stimulus package.
The idea was that many of those on SS aren't receiving a paycheck so they couldn't benefit from the stimulus package. So, instead, they are receiving the one time lump-sum payment. I don't know who is included/excluded from this payment though or what criteria they used to determine who would get it and who would not.Never argue with an idiot. Any extra money is always nice.
Unfortunately, I am not on SS. All I wish to see if gas prices drop since I keep hearing how the cost per barrel has went down. I don't see it at the pump yet!

My mom is getting survivors benefits from my dad who passed away in Oct of 08..it's the only income she receives and does not/ can not work.If I understand what I read correctly she will be getting the $250. Some one correct me if I am wrong please.

My Mom got her letter last week... a one time payment of $250.00, due in late
May."We had to get rid of the kids, the DOG was allergic!"

my husband just got a letter that he qualified for ssd but he won't get his first check until October. will he get this also?
