Relay for Life is a great cause. I already support my local Relay, wish I could afford to support your friend, too, but can't. I'll pray for her to get lots of donations, though.

I have never in my life heard of a charity rejecting any donation, especialy when the economy is in such terrible shape. Relay for life is as awesome thing, but how TACKY of them to say, $5 or nothing

My DD works for the American Cancer Society as a Community Rep. for the Relay for Life. They do NOT reject any donation. You can hand them or mail them any amount you wish. The $5 minimum is for the online donation with a credit card (it used to be $10 min.). They have to pay fees to process your CC donation and if it is less than $5 the fees actually eat your donation. So it is not TACKY it is just economics and the facts.

BTW if any of you are in the Daytona Beach area, please get involved in the Daytona Relay this year. My DD is the Rep. for that area. Her name is Mallory. Actually the relay is for such a great cause, please get involved where ever you live!
