    question for vegetarians

Can anyone tell me which veggie foods taste the best? Like veggie burgers, veggie hot dogs, veggie sausage etc. I know there are several brands like morningstar, boca, etc. Which ones would you recommend?

I have tried them all but just don't really care for any one more that the other. I am not 100% vegan since I do eat seafood but that is the only protien I eat.
I live off of fresh fruits & veggies plus pasta & rice however the pasta has to be glutten-free.

I hate the smell of the boca stuff. I like Morningstar farms stuff. Also the lifelink people make some good tasting stuff. If you want to buy frozen stuff, all of the Amys stuff is good, but it is pretty expensive. There is not way you could afford to feed it to a family. I am lucky, I grew up poor, always had plenty of beans and veggies to eat, so I like them now.

One of my daughters was a vegetarian for 4 or 5 years. She preferred Morningstar farms.I personally would never try any of them, they smell stinky to me.

My youngest daughter makes herself a Boca burger almost every day after school. She does it with the works: ketchup, mayo, lettuce, cheese and grilled onions. I've had a bite of it and it's pretty good.

Here is the thing, when you are used to eating, say red meat, pork, chicken and the likes you have to decide with your mouth of course, which you like, being it Morningstar Farms, or Boca, or whatever..always try to use your condiments, lettuce, tomatoes, etc.
I am not so great anymore as a "veggie" as I run a lot, I find chicken, no skin to be a favorite.
But try Quinoa, whole wheat noodles for pasta, flax seed, tofu and lots of whole grains, like Kashi, and fruit 3 X's a day and vegetables as well..your system will get used to it...and even that yogurt that Jamie Lee Curtis pitches...I tried, it works..
Also, you might mind this fun, buy a Yam, buy a turnip, buy any root vegetables...even a regular potato.....peel and chunk these up with EVVO, salt/pepper add in a few garlic cloves..a few, this makes garlic more sweet...and roast this at 350 degrees in a baking pan and stir, should take 30-40 minutes..you might be surprised add that to a salad with avocado and tomatoes and some whole wheat bread..viola..dinner is served.
I do suggest non salted butter, just a little less sodium..
Aspargus in in season, you can roast that with the veggies.
You may think to use vinegar, like balsmic to the EVVO, as well..
And sherbet is so gosh like for a dessert..and wow the calories you can safe!
Oh, I am more Boca, but rather make my own food..I save more money this way.
    Good luck..

At last....my love has come around..

I'm a vegetarian, so I have supplemented my diet with a number of vegetarian foods over the years. I like the Boca chicken patties, but not the burgers. If I eat a burger it will be a Morningstar burger of some variety. I enjoy the SmartLife and Morningstar veggie dogs equally well. The SmartLife vegetarian products are located in the produce department. I have found that Meijer and Kroger have a nice selection of vegetarian foods. The Amy's frozen products are good, but fairly expensive. I typically make my own food that I will complement with the fake meat (chicken strips, hamburger, sausage), rather than buy the prepackaged frozen meals. Anything I want such as tacos, chili, spaghetti, soups, lasagna, etc., I simply make a vegetarian version of it.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the advice. The reason I am asking is because I am looking into the Engine 2 diet and it calls for occasional use of the veggie stuff.
