    question about roses

    My husband gave me a rose today and I have it in water just wondering if I have to cut the stem at all I don't know know too much about roses

    Any flowers you should cut the stem some and at an angle, at least thats what I have always heard. You should sut it under running water too.

    Yep, warm water is what I have always been told. And I always recut every couple of days as well.

    I always cut them and put them in Sprite. Never heard of using warm water. They usually come with a package of 'stuff' to keep them fresh.

    Kind of does the same thing as the aspirin. I had totally forgotten about aspirin when I replied earlier as it is much easier and not so messy if it gets spilled.

    It kinda works with real christmas trees also.
    The warm water is so they don't go into shock. And yes it should've came with a "food" to help in last longer and "feed" it. Which I only add a portion and then cut with a new cut in a couple of days, add new water and new food etc. HTH
