I need help
I am trying to find a obituary for my grandfather who died in 1994. I looked up the library there, but I dont want to order it, just view it. It wont let me view.. grrrr. I have been to hundreds of sites, but cant seem to find what I am looking for, or you gotta join some crap.
His name is Delbert Roland Albright, Nov. 17 1923 - June 15 1994. He died in Tacoma , Washington, Pierce County
At least I think this is him.. lol. I know the name and year of death is correct. My dad hadnt seen him in decades. If anyone can help it would be much much appreciated

Did you try the newspaper obituary archives for the paper the death notice was published in?

I just chatted with the Tacoma Library. Only way to view it is to go there, well, since I live in Oklahoma , thats not going to happen. Its like I told her, i dont want to pay $5 and it not be him, although it probably is. See my dad's mom divorced him when dad was 4. Dad saw him once right after i was born. I think he married several times and probably has a buttload of kids.

5.00 is pretty inexpensive but hopefully someone can find it free.

If you knew someone who lives near the library, it only costs .20 cents to have copies of the obit made, or they can copy it down by hand for free. I couldnt find the actual obit, could be that the record is so old. It almost predates the internet as we know it.

Yeah thats what I have figured. Dont know anybody in Washington, or relatively close to there. Thanks all for the help. I have found a bunch of sites that will give me records ( if I register and pay $$) which I am unwilling to do because this dead man really doesnt mean anything to me, and I dont know how dad feels about him. He gave me the uncle's phone # that supposedly found it, but I am not really wanting to call him. Havent spoke to him in probably about 20 yrs, so it would be like talking to a stranger...thanks for the help tho guys. I figured it would be a fruitless search, but it couldnt hurt to ask ..

The papers online obits only go back as far as 1995.
Maybe call the paper itself and see if they can help you.

That is what I was thinking too. Maybe even make a new thread asking for a member from there to help in case they don't read this thread. If the post said Tacoma, Washington in the title it might stand out to them. I bet we have someone from around there that could help. Good luck!
