Sammy the Quaker Parrot
She just cracks me up. The kids are watching Sponge Bob, and evidentally she is too. She is in there laughing her tail off cause she thought Squidward was funny. She does this quite often. It is like she knows when something is funny.
She also coughs when the kids do, and cries, I know she is mimicking then, but the laugh thing is all on her own, no one else was laughing.
As soon as I walk in the door, she always says "Mommy" and I say "what baby" and she says "pet the bird" or she will say "hi baby". She is very intellegent.
Anyone else have pets that do human things?

awwww id love to see a pic of her.she sounds really nest, lol.
I have a cat that stand on her back feet in the middle of the floor,in my daughters room, every evening at the same time, and plays with something in the air, then she follows it with her eyes for about an hour, now I have searched this spot many many times, there isnt anything there,I have my spooky feeling on this one.
I have a dog, that weighs about 10 pounds, who sings opera, when I leave his sight,or go away, before I get in the car,I hear a large dog, singing opera,he is so loud, and screachy that all the neighbors look out their windows,he must open his mouth 15 sizes larger, and lord its bad when he goes bye bye,and the window is down, people think I have beat him. Its funny, but embar. at the same time.

I am freakishly scared of birds, but thats pretty neat (even tho I'd run for the hills if it were in the same room w/ me)

i ask for my cat to give me a kiss and she will.she more like a human than a cat,she will just talk to let you know she wants treats .

I don't think either of my dogs know they are actually dogs, they think they are people. Precious loves going for a ride so much that when you pick up the car keys she goes to the door and gets sad when you tell her she can't go. The other day our housemate, left to go somewhere, she apparently jumped in his van with him..lol
If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun.

Birds rock *nod
One of our beardies recognizes the small cutting board we use to cut up veggies. The dh will cut the beardies veggies and walk over to the tanks and Rebel goes for the front of the glass real quick.
Kiwi moves her food with her front foot to the front of her so she can grab it better.. I've never seen them do that before...

Casamir (parrotlet) calls the dog by whistling and saying here boy. He also imitates the neighbors "frisky" sounds.
He also copies the sounds of our arguments (not the words but the tones and speech patterns) and laughs when my BF laughs.

We have a Quaker named Sweet Pea. She laughs at the oddest things, if you hit on your hand on the wall and say "ow" she laughs her tail off. When you walk by her cage she says "tickle" and if you don't blow on her feathers she says it louder and louder until you do. Sweet Pea also barks like a dog and whistles a "cat call" and when you tell her to hush she says "NO".
We also have 2 small dogs who think they are kids. One of the dogs will throw a tantrum if you take a toy away from her or don't give her a blanket to snuggle under.

We use to have a Jack Russell that would sit on his butt on the couch. He would then start barking and whining. He would do that everytime hubby would speak. It looked like He was talking to him.
