When you get a restaurant.com GC, you can apply it for credit (a paper cert) for a certain restaurant. You will get a $25 credit towards your bill. I found that many of them have limitations. For the restaurants close to me one said that your had to spend a minimum of $35 in order to use the $25 restaurant.com certificate. It also limits the days you can use it sometimes. Mine could only be used Mon-Thurs.
I really don't think they are worth it. I got mine for free from Office Depot last year, but would not pay for one.
Before you order the restaurants.com GC, go to their site, look around for a restaurant you want to use it in, and check to see what you need to do in order to redeem your cert.

UGH well that's more than what I expected it to be.
    what a pain.
I did go to restaurants.com and there was an AWESOME mex. restaurant I haven't been to in YEARS but that sounds like too much of a hassle!

    Thanks

Look to see if there are any restrictions for the Mex restaurant. If not, or if it's a min spending amount & you're going to spend more anyway, order it, if not, just keep saving up your points.

We only use them on special occasions for restaurants that we've been dying to go to. Once in a while I'll get an email from them selling their $25 gift certificates for $5. I feel it is worth it if you really want to try the restaurant (we went to Bobby McGee's).

Just make sure you tip based on the original amount. My sister was a server for years and always points that out to me. lol

    lol, what?
I'm not sure I'm following that, you mean if someone's using a $25 gc to buy a $35 meal they tip on the $10 they actually pay instead of the $35 bill?

we never get to go out to eat (1 x a year to RL that my ILs buy for us) but we tip on the price of the bill never what we pay. Cus we usually dont' pay that much & that's not right.

No, the other way around. The actual amount of the bill when you receive it, before the deduction of the certificate.

You'd be surprised to know how many people would do it the other way around.
